Chad went on a fishing trip for the weekend, so the boys and I celebrated the new year early (9pm!) via webcam in NYC. These are some celebratory shots!

We had our Lowry family Christmas this past weekend! It was a riot, the highlights being Owen teaching Uncle Frank to play Wii Sports Resort and our cousins and Uncle Ed game of spoons. We had a great time hanging out and eating delicious food, but we missed everyone who couldn't be there!

Aidan is in the three year-old preschool class at St. Rose this year and tonight was their annual Christmas Program. Anyone who knows Aidan knows he is very shy, painfully sometimes. Preschool has been good for his self-confidence, but I had some doubts whether or not he would make it onto the stage tonight. Much to my delighted surprise, HE DID!! He didn't want to sing, but he did want to do the "moves" (hand gestures) to the songs. He was great and while Chad and I were beaming, Aidan was the most proud of himself! Great night!

This morning my 48 year old mother completed her 2nd half marathon. She beat last year's time by 20 minutes. I'm so proud of you mom!!

Owen had some minor surgery done today. He was quite the trooper despite his nervous mother! They let him bring in a blanket and favorite toy to make him more comfortable. He brought "Stewie" who had to be given a mask and made Dr. Stewie before Owen would let the anesthesiologist touch him!

My boys had their first dentist appointments a couple of weeks ago. They were excited, we'd been reading a book about healthy teeth and dentists that week! The boys did so well despite mom being a nervous wreck!

Chad worked in Arlington over the summer so we were able to take some great day trips to downtown Seattle. We headed to the Pacific Science Center and had a great time, then wandered into the Children's Museum by accident. That was one of the most wonderful places we have ever taken our kids!!

Aidan's first fish, of which he was extremely proud!

Aidan and Chad on the ferry we rode to Friday Harbor. We unfortunately chose the coldest day of the summer!

Owen was very excited to find his name in the old cobbles around Roach Harbor.

Recently had a day trip to Seattle and took the boys to the aquarium and Pike's Place Market. We went to the Crab Pot for lunch and had quite a feast! Aidan helped Dad open all this clams, but declined a taste.

This year’s Halloween marked Aidan’s first school party! We’d planned to reuse the amazing dinosaur costumes my grandma had made the boys last year. Unfortunately (but understandably) Aidan’s teachers requested the kids wear costumes they could still use the bathroom by themselves. I was disappointed, but off we went to Walmart for a quick fix. Aidan chose a jailbird costume, and Owen chose an army soldier costume because it came with a plastic walkie-talkie. I was able to volunteer in the classroom the day of the party and Mrs. McDonnell graciously let Owen participate! What a fun day!
