Yesterday the boys talked Chad into heading down to the Space Needle for a ride up the elevator. It was a beautiful day! We had a rare clear view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker.

Since it was 85* we also found some fun fountains and such to play in.

The boys have quickly figured out they can talk their father into pretty much anything!

One of my boys favorite summertime activities is boating and "waveboarding" with their Uncle Colin. They tubed a little bit last year, but were pretty unsure they liked it. This year however they can't get enough!

Chad has a serious issue with cold water so there was no getting him in the water

Always the competitors, they decided to see who could flip the other off faster. Youth won out, Colin could not be dumped!

My youngest son turned 4 on July 9th this year! With Owen's birthday falling in the summer and Chad always working out of town that time of year, we'd never really had a big bash for him like Aidan has had. So this year I decided to rectify that! He decided he wanted the party to be at my grandparents pool and have a pirate theme and we ran with it. There is a great pirate supply store in downtown Seattle and we found some great costume pieces and decorations. We had a blast planning it, and I think our guests had as good of a time attending.

Everybody had to come in character...

My grandma made the boys pirate capes, which they loved and Aidan is still wearing it constantly two weeks later!

A few months ago while on a family vacation, my grandpa and I came across a kid-sized zipline at a playground and we thought it was the greatest idea ever and we needed to build one at the farm. So for weeks my dad, grandpa and husband planned and finally and built it for the party. It was the hit of the day for the young...

...and old!
As if a 200ft zipline 15ft off the ground wasn't enough, they decided to attach a rope so someone on the ground could pull my dangling children along for a faster ride!
After Sage n Sun, my dad let the boys ride the horses around. I think Owen might be destined for the rodeo, he absolutely loved and and did not want to get off!

We had a blast at this year's Sage n Sun festival! We started out on Saturday by running the fun run with me, Chad, our boys, my brother Colin and my mom (actually my mother left the rest of us in the dust to run the 5 mile while we ran the 2 mile). Colin and Chad ran with Aidan and I tried to keep up while pushing Owen in the stroller.
Aidan got 1st place in his 0-5 age bracket!!

Chad and I both got 3rd on our brackets.

Next on to the parade...my grandpa spent all year restoring his old Chevy truck so his great-grandchildren could ride it in the parade! Uncle Colin drove and Chad rode in the back with the boys.

Next came my dad...he and his friend Bob go on a horseback elk hunting trip every fall. Somehow Bob talked him into riding the horses in the parade. The result was hysterical, you would have thought he was running for mayor

So I guess I need to play a little catchup here. When Chad works on the road, our lives get a little hectic traveling back and forth. In my last post Aidan had just started swimming lessons and wasn't quite sure how he felt about them...he ended up loving them!!

Next came Aidan's Jog-a-thon fundraiser at St. Rose in which he ran the furthest in his class and was extremely proud of himself!

Then his last day of 3-year-old Preschool...if you ask him what his favorite thing about school was, his answer is always Junior Joggers.

The day after school got out, Aidan setup a Junior Jogger course and got Owen to run laps with him...
I'm not sure who loves the boys being at work more!
